The Late Shows is back for the second year running and this year promises to be bigger than ever! On Saturday 17 May, NewcastleGateshead will come alive with culture in celebration of the international ‘Museums at Night’ event and national Museums & Galleries Month. 20 cultural venues, usually closed in the evening, are staying up late for one night only to bring you an unrivalled night of fun-filled activities, one-off events and sensational exhibitions.

The Journal food and beer writer, Alasdair Gilmour, has just been confirmed for The Late Shows 2008! Try some of the best local beers around in the ‘Liquid Bred’ beer tasting sessions at Discovery Museum. Spaces are limited to 50 people per session, on a first come first served basis.
